Find a way
Resilience is all about finding a way, despite the odds. In this COVID era, the odds are, indeed, stacked against us. But, many are using the opportunity to take time for self-care, to do those projects that have been nagging us for however long and to use the situation as an opportunity to unleash our spirit of creativity. Monday motivation cheers all the emergency workers and everyone who is staying at home to stay safe.
But we’re also cheering everyone who is finding a way to be resilient. It ain’t easy! Resilience is one of the toughest skills to learn. Why? For the most part, you can’t learn it by reading about it: you have to live through something to feel it, to experience it and to come through to the other side of it. That’s the only way that you truly learn what resilience is. You can do it! Believing in yourself is the first part.

Monday motivation tips on becoming more resilient
For many people, digging in to find that Monday motivation, or Tuesday, or Wednesday, or whatever day of the week it is, is getting harder to do. The human spirit is strong, but it is not unbreakable. COVID-19 has imposed a burden so great that it may take us as individuals and us, collectively as a society, years to work through and recover from.
But that journey to recovery needs to start now. Resilience is going to make all the difference. Monday motivation is here to support you and work through it together.
#1 – find a purpose
Many of us have recently lost our sense of purpose. We’re often defined by our jobs and equate our role at work with our role in life. With the spread of this pandemic, many of us have lost our jobs and hence, lost our sense of purpose. Monday motivation reminds us that now is the time to rethink our purpose – it is much, much greater than the job that we hold or once held. It is about digging in, fueling our strengths reserves, opening our hearts and finding a way to give what we can to help others who are not as strong. In so doing, we’ll build our own resilience and sense of purpose at the same time.
#2 – build your community
A profound feeling of grief and loss is what most people are experiencing now because they have lost membership to or become socially distanced from their community. But this is the era of technology! There are multiple meet-up groups, free webinars, social channel LIVE events and so on that you can jump on. Grab a coffee, a drink, a lunch, make your dinner together or whatever floats your boat – there are so many options.
#3 – spark optimism
Last year, we all learned about “sparking joy” and many of us have already learned that life is a marathon – not a sprint. Things will change for the better. How long? Nobody knows. But parts of the world are already coming out of the COVID fog. It is happening. We have to believe and focus on optimism. Staying positive is a core component of resilience. It may be harder than ever before to stay optimistic, but you’ve got to try.
Monday motivation knows that we’re in challenging times. But we can help each other. The human spirit is strong and we have the capacity in our hearts to help each other. KEEP GOING!
