If you haven’t seen Miley Cyrus active with her performances recently, it’s because she’s been on the mend after undergoing vocal cord surgery. On Saturday, Cyrus, 26, left the hospital and will be making a speedy recovery, but it does come with several weeks of silence.
Last month, Cyrus, 26, was hospitalized for tonsillitis, then discovering a separate issue with her vocal cords, which unbeknownst to her, she had for years, according to sources. Upon learning the news, she was told she would need to have the surgery before the end of the year, which would include weeks of silence through the beginning of the new year.

On Friday, the singer’s boyfriend, Cody Simpson, 22, shared a black-and-white picture of the two on his Instagram, referencing Cyrus’ surgery with the word “success.” Following her split from Kaitlynn Carter, Cyrus seemed to find her new love interest with the Australian singer. While the pair have been friends for years, it wasn’t until recently that she two have bonded over their shared sobriety, as Simpson was by Cyrus’ side throughout her recovery process.
“We keep each other in a good place,” Simpson said on The Kyle and Jackie O Show last month. “That’s what’s really healthy about it and I think that’s the first time I’ve had that in a relationship. We’re very, very much on the same page.”
Simpson recently released his new song last month titled “Golden Thing,” which was inspired by Cyrus.
Cyrus hasn’t performed music since her split from Carter in September, announcing nearly three weeks ago that she would be taking a break from singing.
“On vocal rest not body,” said the singer.
She recently appeared in the most recent season of Netflix’s original series, “Black Mirror,” playing the role of “Ashley Too.”

But don’t worry, Miley fans can rest assured that she will be back stronger and better than ever come the new 2020 year.
But even more exciting is that Simpson is a Friends TV-series fan.
