Break me off a piece of that Kit Kat bar! Known around the world for its inventive flavors and catchy tune, Kit Kat announced the launch of a brand-new product coming to the U.S.—Kit Kat Duos Mint + Dark Chocolate, the first year-round Kit Kat flavor in almost a decade.

The new KIT KAT® Duos Mint + Dark Chocolate will feature a mashup of two iconic flavors. A mint crème on the top and dark chocolate on the bottom, all surrounding light and crispy wafers. KIT KAT® Duos Mint + Dark Chocolate will be available nationwide December 2019, so mark your calendars and share your posts on Instagram!

Our fans in the U.S. have been requesting new KIT KAT® flavors and we’re excited to share we are adding to the KIT KAT® family with the launch of KIT KAT® Duos Mint + Dark Chocolate,” said Christopher Kinnard, KIT KAT senior brand manager. “But here’s the best part – we are just getting started. Keep your eyes peeled; there is more to come from the KIT KAT® brand.”

So, how do they taste? Well, some Instagrammers like @mnmtwinz have already tried them, receiving early samples from Kit Kat, providing rave reviews. The Instagram twins shared that it was a perfect pairing of chocolate and mint and that “if you don’t like mint, still give it a try if you love Kit Kat and are feeling festive.”

Marcus and Matthew, aka @mnmtwinz, are identical twins that explore everything new, rare, and/or interesting junk food!

The Dark Chocolate combined with the cooling mint was a wonderful pairing. Every year we grow fonder and fonder of mint chocolate as we feel the desire to try new releases of the brands we love. If you don’t like mint, still give it a try if you love Kit Kat and are feeling festive.

This is the first of many Duos flavors the brand will release.

For 125 years, Hershey has been committed to operating fairly, ethically and sustainably. Hershey founder, Milton Hershey, created the Milton Hershey School in 1909 and since then the company has focused on helping children succeed.

Recognizing Hershey’s ethical commitment, I personally am not a fan of Hershey products, having traveled to Ghana and seen the cocoa farms and learning more about how certain companies manufacture their chocolate—however, KIT KAT is one of the very few products I will actually entertain by the company. If you’re curious about the “dark side of chocolate,” there’s an excellent 2010 documentary to check out.

The Hershey Company manufactures KIT KAT® Bars in the US under license from Société des Produits Nestle SA, Vevey, Switzerland, Trademark Owners. The Hershey Company, celebrating its 125th anniversary in 2019, is headquartered in Hershey, Pa., and is an industry-leading snacks company known for bringing goodness to the world through its iconic brands, remarkable people and enduring commitment to help children succeed.
