Not cold enough yet this winter?

One company, iCRYO, doesn’t think so, so it’s offering up cryotherapy — and its franchises are sprouting up all over the country. Naturally Grit Daily caught up with iCRYO COO, Kyle Jones, to find out why we should freeze ourselves a bit more.

  1. You have your own interesting background. Share that.

Just call him the Ice Man.

Through my years of college football, national power lifting and professional bodybuilding, I have learned one very important thing; recovery is key! They are already calling the decade of 2020-2030 the decade of recovery. People are becoming more aware that recovery, whether it be mentally or physically, is most important. Knowing this information, I grew an attraction for rehab such as physical therapy and when I worked as a Physical Therapy tech, the clinic I was working at bought two cryotherapy machines. It was perfect timing!

  1. Why focus on cryotherapy?

My fascination for this natural remedy grew tremendously. Cryotherapy focuses on putting the body into subzero temperatures triggering a systemic reaction to help heal itself both mentally and physically. The benefits of cryotherapy are targeted in 3 main categories; anti-aging/beauty, fitness/athletes, and pain management. Each one of those are multi-billion dollar industries. As someone with a long background in fitness and athletics, I know the power of this therapy.

  1. Give us a sense of the size of the market?

Well, according to this recent study, the cryotherapy market is projected to reach $5.6 Billion by 2024. Based off the market size and opportunity for growth, we truly believe iCRYO is the leading franchise opportunity in the U.S. As an entrepreneur, I look at a business as an opportunity to make money and help people at the same time. There couldn’t be a more beneficial opportunity for an entrepreneur than a proven cryotherapy business model like we have with iCRYO. With cryotherapy being only a 3 minute process, I envision it being as simple as getting a cup of coffee from Starbucks in the morning. It will become a part of people’s everyday life. It already has in some of our locations! The dawn of the “cold rush” is soon to come and iCRYO is in the process by setting the standard in the industry.

  1. Are there risks?

There are certainly risks in the cryotherapy industry when people are irresponsible and not trained properly to operate the equipment. iCRYO prides itself on our proprietary safety and training methods. Despite the cryotherapy space as a whole not having a set protocol, we created a cloud based, safety testing system for everyone in the organization, from our franchisees to technicians. iCRYO’s standard process of care makes it the only cryotherapy company that we know of requiring all employees to get certified and answer a 100 question safety exam.

  1. What are the benefits?

Cryotherapy targets inflammation in the body and helps reduces it by each session. Athletes have been using cryotherapy to treat injuries and rehabilitate for years. The reason is because it helps them numb pain and recover quicker. The best athletes and trainers in the world use cryotherapy and iCRYO wants to bring it to the masses across the U.S. at an affordable price.

  1. Who benefits most?

Every person that walks the planet harnesses some level of inflammation. In simple terms, everyone is a candidate for cryotherapy and can benefit from it in one way or another. The people who benefit the most are the ones who may be dealing with arthritis, aches and pains, anxiety, fibromyalgia, stress and migraines.
