As Pritma Dhillon Chattha states in the Apploi 2021 healthcare trends report “packed full of learnings, pivots, and invention that collectively grew our global knowledge ten-fold when compared to years prior.” Overall, in 2020 there was an 11% increase in the number of jobs, an 89% increase in the average growth of healthcare jobs. According to Apploi’s report, job postings by healthcare organizations jumped 22% year over year.
Apploi was able to not just survive in the pandemic, but thrive– more than can be said for many. Where healthcare job postings and job seeker engagement skyrocketed in accordance to the COVID-19 spikes, Apploi handled the surge effortlessly. In May the number for CNA, LPN, RN, and HHA jobs doubled across the Apploi site alone compared the beginning of April 2019. Applications were coming primarily from New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Pennsylvania, and Ohio as the demand for nurses and home healthcare assistants rose due to “social distancing and overwhelmed facilities.” By the end of May the number of jobs that customers published weekly had quadrupled.
Healthcare Job Trend: Nursing Specific Jobs on the Rise
In August both healthcare and nursing-specific total job seeker engagement increased enough to pass pre-pandemic levels for the first time. Apploi had a 275% – 479% increase in the number of weekly CNA applications from July-August 2020 across the top 5 states where CNA’s applied. The number of RN and LPN applications progressed steadily throughout the month before dropping 28%. There was a 150% increase in the number of jobs published on Apploi during the month. ZipRecruiter’s job seeker per job ratio catapulted to six job seekers per job. These statistics are a reflection of the relative progression of the coronavirus peak when healthcare workers were in the highest demand.
