Game of Thrones fans rejoice! Winter is officially coming back April 14, 2019, according to HBO, for its last time. The network announced the return of the final season of Game of Thrones series ahead of the third season premiere of HBO’s True Detective Sunday night.
The GOT announcement also had a pretty sweet teaser, entitled “Crypts of Winterfell,” directed by franchise Emmy winner David Nutter and encompasses an original score from renown Emmy winner, Ramin Djawadi.
Watch the video below:
The video depicts Jon Snow, Sansa Stark, and Arya Stark walking through the crypts underneath their home, hearing voices from their deceased family members, Ned and Catelyn Stark, as well as others. At the end of the day, the Starks are preparing to battle the cold and icy blast from the White Walkers which have now made themselves known throughout the North.
It has been a long wait coming, as GOT fans have been eagerly waiting since August 2017 for the show’s return, waiting for the latest addition to the world of George R.R. Martin, which most fans know have taken some different turns from their literature counterparts.
