Welcome to Golightly, a new vacation rental platform that’s just for women. All of the properties are owned and managed by women and the platform has strict rules on who can join.
“Golightly is an invite-only home-sharing and vacation rental club for women. We want women to travel often, stay safely and go lightly.”

Stay Safely and Go Lightly
All bookings are made by women, although the women can travel with men if they so choose. The goal is to ensure that women feel safe while traveling, which is often a problem while on the go.
To join the platform, a user is invited by an existing member. Each existing member gets 5 invites in an effort to keep the platform safe. If you don’t know any existing members, you can fill out a form to apply, have an interview with a member of the Golightly team, and join the platform that way.
Only women can be members, but again, once a member you can bring with you whoever you want when you travel.
CEO Victoria O’Connell founded the company after she rented out her home in London via a traditional share site and a group of men destroyed and burglarized her space.
“This horrible experience made Victoria think about how she – and many women – feel vulnerable while both traveling and renting out one’s home. How would she feel comfortable renting her place again? What would make her feel safe staying at someone else’s rental? She realized that knowing more about who is renting your property, who you are renting from, and having a connection to that person through a private club, was the answer.”
The company is run by women, for women. I am thrilled with this idea. As a nervous traveler, a safety obsessor, and a woman, Golightly is the travel solution I’ve been waiting for.
Golightly joins a new generation of apps and websites making it easier for Millennials to travel safely and cheaply in an expensive and dangerous world.
