Four Frozen Alcoholic Drinks Just in Time For Summer

Summer is closely approaching and if we are counting down, then we have 15 more days until summer begins and I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one excited. I’m ready to bring out my cute flowy shorts and decorated summer dresses and soak up the sun with some frozen alcoholic drinks.

Even though some of us may not be spending this summer the way we wanted to or had initially planned, that doesn’t mean we still can’t celebrate the beautiful sun shining down on us.

So, to get us out of that funk—aside from swimming and beaches, another thing that comes to mind when I think of summer is a delicious frozen drink. Who said we couldn’t celebrate our way? That’s precisely how we are going to do it.

Mango Margarita

Lime wedges

Kosher salt

Crushed Ice

Lime margarita mix

Triple Sec

Diced ripe mango

You are going to make the lime margarita as directed on the margarita mix. Then you are going to add the mixture to the blender and your diced mango slices and then blend until you have a smooth, slushy consistency, and there you go!

Hawaiian Margarita

1 cup of ice

1 1/2 ounces tequila

1/2 ounce triple sec

1/4 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen)

1/4 cup pineapple (fresh or canned)

2 dash sour mix

Garnish: strawberry slice

Garnish: pineapple wedge

Gather all your ingredients together and place them into a blender and blender until smooth. Once finished, place in whatever margarita cup you desire and garnish with a strawberry and pineapple.

The Painkiller Slushie

4 ounces pineapple juice

2 ounces rum

1-ounce orange juice

1 ounce cream of coconut

1½ cups ice

1-ounce grenadine

Grated nutmeg, for garnish

Orange slice, for garnish

Maraschino cherry, for garnish

In your blender, you are going to combine pineapple juice, rum, orange juice, cream of coconut, and ice and blend until smooth. Once that is a blender, you will pour half of that mixture into whichever glass of your choosing.

Keep the rest of the mix in the blender and add in your grenadine and blend until smooth. Once that’s blended, pour that mixture into your cup and stir with a spoon to make a pink ombre effect.

Triple-Layer Piña Coladas

3 oz. rum

1 1/2 c. pineapple

3 tsp. agave syrup

3 tbsp. coconut cream

3 oz. lime juice

1 c. ice

12 strawberries, chopped

2 small peach, chopped

Strawberries, for garnish

Toasted sweetened coconut, for garnish

Fill your blender with ⅓ of the rum, pineapple agave nectar, coconut cream, lime juice, and ice. You are going to repeat this method two more times but adding in your strawberries and peaches. So first blend up your mixture without the fruits, then the next two times, you will make the same mixture and adding in your strawberries and blending it.

Then you will do this again, creating another mix but then adding in your peaches. (three different mixtures for three layers) You are then going pour each mixture into a serving glass, starting with your base mixture. Also, make sure your mix is cold before pouring.
