Disney World has set yet another mandate for their parks and property again since they’ve opened. In early July the Disney World theme parks and property in Florida opened, and just recently, Downtown Disney in California has opened its doors to the public. Disney announced to the public on their website, stating that they will now ban certain types of masks from being worn in the parks and on other Disney properties.
Disney’s official statement is, “At this time based on guidance from health authorities, neck gaiters, open chin triangle bandanas and face coverings containing valves, mesh material or holes of any ids are not acceptable face coverings.”
The correct face mask and the only ones they will accept for you have on in the parks are face masks that must include two layers of material to cover your nose and mouth and looped around your ears. When you have it on your face, you won’t have to use your hands to keep it on your face while at the parks.
Along with those rules, costume masks can’t be used as face coverings either, so people, if you have a trip to Disney World anytime soon, make sure you stock up on the correct masks to cover your face.
When you are taking your trip to Disney, there are things that you should know before going and know some things are different. Another tip to remember when you’re taking your trip to Disney is to remember that just because you have on the correct mask at any Disney establishment, that it doesn’t mean that this is your form of social distancing.
So when it comes to proper rules, remember to wear your masks properly and to social distance.
This change comes vital to the recent news that Disney has also banned guests from eating and drinking while walking due to the problems they were having with guests and their masks.
A new rule Disney has added to the list on guidelines that guests have to follow is that they cannot eat and drink while walking. The reason for this rule is that many guests weren’t adhering to the park’s rules and where leaving their masks off while just holding food and drinks and casually walking around the parks.
The new rule states that you can lower/remove your mask while eating and drinking, but you cannot be moving and be at a standstill and also social distance from others. Many Disney fans, creators, and writers took to their Instagram to describe how most guests in the park aren’t following those rules.
One Disney fan and creator took to his Instagram to discuss his trip and issues with face masks.
Of course, plenty of people online have expressed their complaints and concerns about face masks worn in the parks, but news flash here—we are in the middle of a global pandemic. Honestly, with cases rising in Florida, California, and other parks overseas are just now opening or closing, you are protecting you and people around you.
So, if you or someone you know is taking a trip to Disney anytime soon, please make sure to wear your mask, social distance, wash your hands, and enjoy your time at the happiest place on earth.
