Bowflex Introduces Peloton Competitor With VeloCore Bike

Published on January 13, 2021

Peloton has competition when it comes to at-home bikes now. Bowflex recently introduced consumers to the award-winning VeloCore bike. Most famous for adjustable workout systems, the company now has a few new cardio machines in its wheelhouse with the Bowflex Treadmill 22 and a new version of the Max Trainer series, the Bowflex Max Trainer M9. It’s the VeloCore bike that’s giving Peloton competition, though.

The CES 2021 Innovation Award went to The Bowflex VeloCore Bike. The bike is applauded for its innovative design. It’s the industry’s first dual-mode indoor cycling bike. Bowflex’s relatively new product was awarded the honor for innovation out of thousands of new products.

The bike is popular among critics and consumers. It has a 22-inch HD touch screen which access to personal workouts and even voices to coach consumers during specific workouts. It’s easy to connect with friends, trainers, and others while riding the VeloCore. “Since its launch three months ago, the Bowflex VeloCore bike has been extremely popular and continues to receive favorable customer and media reviews — it’s exciting to see that translate into recognition as a fitness industry innovator,” said Jim Barr, CEO, Bowflex’s parent company Nautilus, Inc. “This award is also validation that we are empowering healthier living by providing our customers with extraordinary, personalized fitness experiences.”

The bike provides over 75 videos for training. A consumer can ride through 25 different locations from across the globe. Unlike the Peloton bike, too, users can “go (un)stationary with leaning mode. You’ll rock, move, and flex your way through the curves of scenic destinations around the planet. No matter which mode you choose, you’re in for a comfortable, more natural-feeling ride that’ll fit whatever the day’s fortune,” according to the company.

Bowflex is in the news for another major announcement at CES 2021, as well. The Bowflex Treadmill 22 is their latest big announcement. It’s competition for Peloton Tread’s smart treadmill. Peloton is most famous for its bike, but their treadmill is lesser-known and newer. Given Bowflex’s fame and reputation in the gym community, the Bowflex Treadmill could become the defining, state-of-the-art treadmill for consumers. Like Peloton, though, the treadmill comes with a hefty price tag. It costs. $2,699.

As for the Bowflex Trainer M9, that’ll come out within the next two months. On top of the purchase price, the class subscriptions come with a monthly price of $19.99. The subscriptions provide classes and access to all the major streaming companies, similar to the VeloCore bike. Best of all, there are over 40 different trails to run from across the globe.

The Bowflex subscription service, JRNY, does take into account the user’s fitness level. Based on personal fitness level, Bowflex provides personalized workouts. The bike and treadmill go at the consumer’s own pace. “It’s our goal to provide users with an exceptional portfolio of superior, personalized, connected home fitness products, so we’re delighted to offer the JRNY digital fitness platform on our new Bowflex T7 and T10 treadmills; with another model launching early next year,” said Jim Barr, who’s the CEO of Bowflex’s parent company, Nautilus, Inc. “We have data that shows people who utilize the JRNY digital fitness platform work out more consistently and for a longer period of time, which reinforces our commitment to motivating them and empowering healthier living through individualized connected fitness experiences.” Bowflex’s treadmill, as well as the VeloCore bike, encourages users to stay on track to meet their goals.
