The world’s current biggest female rap superstars, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B have been reviving some good old NYC beef, but for the whole world to see for a while now. However, the two reportedly buried the hatchet earlier last year and were even seen smiling and socializing at the MET Gala. Reportedly, minutes after Cardi made the birth announcement, Nicki Minaj sent Cardi B a gift that is super telling of the two women’s styles.
From one of the most luxurious (and expensive) baby stores in LA, Petit Trésor, Nicki Minaj sending over a $5,000 baby basket filled with goods, toys, clothes, and of course, a sterling silver rattle for baby Kulture. In other words, quite the expensive olive branch.
Nicki Minaj isn’t the only one excited for the birth of a new member of little hip-hop royalty, The internet went nuts congratulating Cardi B and her husband Offset on the birth of their new daughter.
In true Cardi fashion, the singer took to Instagram to post some gorgeous pregnancy photos and announce the birth.
Cardi B also likely expected there to be some critics of the name Kulture, but she took to Instagram to tease her followers and explain the baby’s name.
The Bodak Yellow singer wrote:
“Kulture ! Anything else woulda been basic Okrrrrrrruuu!”
Of course it would!
Cardi B has been in the headlines for months before popping out her baby. With the recent interviews where she admitted her producers thought having a baby would be bad for her career, and the news that she’s been secretly married to hubby Offset, Cardi B knows how to command the cameras.
It’s also nice to see that Cardi B and Nicki Minaj can use a baby to forget an old feud. Both incredibly successful, chart-topping, well-spoken women from NYC, it’s nice to see the two get along in a sort of bonding moment created by the hip-hop gods.
Nicki Minaj sent Cardi B a gift that’s pretty thoughtful, consider both of these ladies are fashion divas… and you can expect any kids that come from these two to feel the same!
It’s hard not to admire Cardi B’s attitude during pregnancy. The singer’s done a lot in the 9 months before her daughter was born. She finished and released an album while pregnant, shot several music videos, and done plenty of performances with better dance moves than a lot of us have without a baby bump. With no signs of stopping, Cardi B plans to go right back to touring in the fall, after taking some time to recover and enjoy being a new mom.
