Ariana Grande Released A Live Album Just In Time For The Holidays

Published on December 24, 2019

Can Ariana Grande get any better? Likely yes, but the singer has spent the majority of the last two years creating hit after hit after hit, filming award winning music videos, traveling the globe to perform a full-scale performance with custom lighting and stage design (that she conceptualized herself, and that we should mention was a technical feat on its own), and also interacting with her fan base on a near constant basis on social media.

To finish off her most successful two years to-date, Grande gifted us all with a surprise album recorded from one of her live performances in London as a holiday treat.

The live album, titled “k bye for now (swt live)” encompasses Grande’s entire setlist during her “Thank U, Next/Sweetener” world tour. The tour kicked off earlier this year and finished its first leg in July, picking back up again in the fall to finish its final show in Los Angeles just days ago. Fans can enjoy the full set list from the concert, which was recorded in London, complete with the sound of screaming fans in the background.

To celebrate the end of the tour, Grande released the album just hours after finishing the final Los Angeles show on December 22 at The Forum in Los Angeles, an iconic music venue that has played host to some of the greatest artists since it opened in 1967.

The Tour

Throughout the 101 dates around North America and Europe, Grande performed a collection of songs from both “Thank U, Next” and “Sweetener” as well as covers of other artists’ music like Marilyn Monroe and NSYC. Grande also brought the show to Coachella, which she headlined back in April 2019 over the course of two weekends. The tour was in partnership with an organization called HeadCount, which helped young people at her shows get registered to vote in their state.

Grande’s success over the last couple of years has earned her dozens of awards between the two albums she released in 2018 and 2019—within months of one another. Among those awards were the 2019 American Music Award for Artist of the Year, as well as a Grammy for the best pop/vocal album on “Sweetener.”

Grande has stated that she will take some time off after the holidays, but that fans can expect more to come from her in the not so far future. Right now, you can stream “k bye for now (swt live)” on all major streaming services.
