Angelica del Rocio Dios Jaramillo is a leading innovator in the design strategy and project leadership world. Her journey, marked by a robust blend of passion and hard work, highlights her role as a frontrunner in the field.

Starting at Parsons SDS (School of Design Strategy), Angelica showcased her intrinsic ability to make an impact. While her curriculum included collaborations with renowned brands such as Panasonic, Hugo Boss, and Sesame Street, Angelica took an unconventional path. Her most memorable piece? An interactive installation that boldly protested the influence of agencies’ roles in Trump’s border wall. It was a passionate outcry, aligning with The New Sanctuary Coalition, an organization she deeply respects.

Building upon this momentum, Angelica’s talent was spotlighted in the heart of New York City. One of her iconic moments was when Times Square came alive with her design showcased on the Nasdaq building. This recognition was part of AIGA’s Design for Democracy initiative in collaboration with NYCxDESIGN and Design Pavilion.

Angelica’s journey with AIGA was far from over. She was at the forefront of championing inclusivity. Collaborating with giants like Microsoft and Creative Reaction Lab, she was instrumental in the Design for Inclusivity Industry Summit, setting the stage for industry leaders to value diversity

As she ventured further into branding, Angelica’s dual strengths — her administrative experience and creative insights — made her indispensable. At forceMAJEURE, she managed and creatively steered top-tier clients like Diageo, Unilever, L’Oreal, and Campari. Whether innovating brand conversations or leading strategic initiatives, Angelica always brought a fresh perspective.

Angelica’s collaboration with Combo, a strategic design agency, ushered in another exciting chapter. Here, Angelica’s role expanded beyond brand management to spearheading forward-thinking research. From redefining projects for clients like Humana to aiding startups like Bankroll and Solana Mobile in sculpting their brand identities, her Midas touch was evident. But what truly stands out is her commitment to nurturing the next generation through her partnership with SOW, an agency focusing on young BIPOC creatives.

But to truly appreciate Angelica’s talent, we must delve into her personal story. Raised by her mother across three countries — Peru, America, and Mozambique — her early life was a blend of cultures and experiences. Her multicultural upbringing and determination to thrive in a challenging creative domain make her journey more inspiring. “Resilient” — that’s how Angelica describes her story, and rightfully so.

However, beyond her impressive accolades and challenging journey, Angelica offers insights on sustaining a successful career. She believes in transparency with clients and proactive leadership for internal teams. Angelica stresses the importance of handing off the strategy to design and maintain a nourishing professional network. Above all, she’s a living believer in the idea that when passion meets profession, magic happens.

Angelica del Rocio Dios Jaramillo is more than just a design strategist and project lead. She’s a beacon of resilience and creativity in an ever-evolving industry. With each project, she sets the bar high and pushes boundaries, reminding us all that success is inevitable when we lead with vision and passion.
