Adidas Is Supposedly Collaborating With Game Of Thrones

Published on October 4, 2018

Over the last few months rumors have swirled online surrounding a collaboration between Adidas and Game of Thrones. The athletic and streetwear company is set to release two pairs of Adidas boost shoes in collaboration with the hit HBO show. The line is rumored to feature two unique pairs of shoes inspired by different elements of the show. The first pair features red and gold fabric with black embellishments, while the second is snow white from heel to toe. Both mockup images feature tags on the backs of the shoes that read “FIRE AND BLOOD” to honor the Targaryen theme of the line.

If this is true, could this be hinting at a potential spoiler for the outcome of the final season? Neither Adidas nor HBO have commented on the rumored collaboration. Despite the fact that the rumor has been circulating sneaker websites and social media for months now. An original leak of the Ultra Boost mockups show six different shoes inspired by the reigning houses in the show. These rendered images look more fan made than the actual mockups shown in the two Targaryen themed shoes. The line is rumored to be released in early 2019, perhaps with the release of the beginning of the final Game of Thrones episodes.

Winter Is Here

Speaking of the final season, the show’s Visual Effects Supervisor, Joe Bauer, announced this week that an old character would be returning for the final episodes. Fans of Jon Snow’s direwolf, Ghost, will be excited to see the return of the character in this final season. The creature was, for the most part, missing from season 7 with no explanation. “Ghost does show up, and he does some… he’s very present and does some pretty cool things in season 8,” Bauer said in an interview with Huffington Post.

Bauer went on to say that the reason the show has seen less action from direwolves in the later seasons is because they’re complicated to work with. The show often uses actual wolves, which can be difficult to train, and then changes them a bit in the editing process. “I think that has something to do with why the direwolves are in the show but they’re not maybe as integral as they are in the books,” he continued. Regardless, a lack of direwolf screen time won’t keep fans away from Season 8 when it returns in 2019.

No Official Word From Adidas

The final season Game of Thrones is set to return to HBO in April of 2019 (we hope). There is no word yet on whether or not Adidas and Game of Thrones will actually be releasing a line. However, it wouldn’t be surprising if Adidas decided to keep quiet on the project until the last minute. Check out the teaser trailer for season 8 of Game of Thrones below.
