From Veteran to Author
Johnson began his professional career in the U.S. Army, deploying to Afghanistan, where he participated in daily combat operations. Although the experience was challenging, Johnson felt that he was fulfilling his duty and serving a vital purpose for his country.
Through his military service, which lasted from 1998 to 2013, Johnson gained valuable lessons in discipline, as well as a wealth of experience to draw upon in his creative endeavors. During his deployment, Johnson was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service. After returning from his deployment in Afghanistan, he began to write and completed his first book in 2010.
A Prolific Writer
Since writing his first book, Johnson has completed an additional 14 books before taking a personal sabbatical. Recently, however, he has found opportunities to resume his writing process. As an author, Johnson draws on his experiences and knowledge of the military to create unique settings and stories, crafting exciting tales of military science fiction for his audience.
A Varied Career
In addition to his career as an author, Johnson has held several other roles. He has served as a virtual air combat instructor, a texture artist, a forum moderator, a games beta tester, and a book reviewer while operating as a self-employed writer. His contributions as a book reviewer are particularly notable, as his understanding of military themes has made him a respected voice in the industry.
Johnson credits his success largely to the support of his mother, who has been his greatest inspiration in life. At the same time, he recognizes the positive impact of military discipline, which has given him the determination he needs to accomplish his goals. Furthermore, his career is supported by an associate degree in business management through American Intercontinental University, which he completed in 2011.
Looking forward, Johnson notes that advancements in art and writing using artificial intelligence (AI) are still in their infancy. He does not knowingly use AI in his work, recognizing that giving a machine a prompt does not constitute genuine creative work. His transparent approach to this major issue in the arts ensures that his stance is clear to his audience as he continues to write.
Plans for the Future
Currently, Johnson is actively working on a new military science fiction series and aims to establish himself as a well-known author within the coming years. Through his work, he plans to continue to draw on his unique insight into military experience, committing himself to building a body of work that finds its audience and leaves a lasting legacy.
