Risilience, an analytics startup based in England, has raised $9.2 in Series A funding to help companies around the globe reach their net-zero goals.

The founding round IQ Capital with participation from insurance multinational Tokyo Marine and US MIT alumni investment fund Castor Ventures. The capital will be allocated to boosting the development of its platform to meet the increasing demand by organizations looking to reach net-zero emissions. Dr. Andrew Coburn, CEO of Risilience, referred to the round by stating:

“We are delighted to have the support of IQ Capital, Tokio Marine Holdings, and Castor Ventures in our ambitious plan to provide world-class solutions for businesses to de-risk their exposure to climate change. We selected these investors for their ability to partner with us and add expertise and access to key market sectors.”

Risilience was founded in 2021 to help organizations reach their environmental goals by providing them with actionable insights via datasets and quantifying tools. The startup uses the approach recommended by the Centre for Risk Studies at the University of Cambridge, Judge Business School. To date, companies like Nestlé, Burberry, Reckitt, EasyJet, Maersk, Informa, Abrdn, and AXA XL are already using the platform developed by the startup. Kerry Baldwin, Managing Partner of IQ Capital, said about the startup’s recent success:

“Risilience combines the technology, science, customer base and academic rigour to make a real and practical difference in the fight against climate change. This is an example of a British business helping the world’s largest companies to achieve and evidence net zero transition.”

As environmental concerns continue to grow around the world, more than one-fifth of all large corporations are looking to reduce their environmental impact by taking steps to reach the net-zero target. Risilience is looking to make the process easier for companies while keeping them on track, allowing them to satisfy their consumer base’s concerns but also has been shown to provide multiple benefits that justify the implementation costs.
